The FIFA Home Cup was an online FIFA tournament produced by OMNIS Club for a client in 2020. It put professional footballers from clubs including TSG Hoffenheim, VfL Wolfsburg and Asteras Tripolis, on the same bracket as esports pros and sports media, with competition and broadcast produced fully online.

The brief

In 2020, with stadiums empty and every sports property looking for a way to reach fans at home, a client commissioned OMNIS Club to produce an online FIFA competition connecting professional football clubs with gaming audiences.

Everything had to work remotely: player coordination, the competition itself and the broadcast.

The format

We put professional footballers on the same bracket as esports pros and sports media. TSG Hoffenheim, VfL Wolfsburg, Asteras Tripolis and MTW were among the clubs involved.

That mix is what made it work: fans came for their club's players and stayed for the competition, while the pros and media kept the level and the narrative high.

Why clubs trust operators

Working with clubs at that level requires speaking both football and esports fluently: their calendars, their image rights, their sponsors and their audiences.

OMNIS Club delivered the format, the player coordination and the fully online broadcast, with OMNIS Club's broadcast team, led by Javier Roca Plaza, running the stream end to end. It remains our reference for what we can operate when clubs, athletes and creators meet.
